Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His defensive approach and regular outbursts on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to create a decider.

He defended 4 early-game break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
